By placing an order, you agree to the following terms, which are designed to set clear expectations and ensure a smooth experience for both parties.

1. Product Variation & Material Disclaimer
1.1. All items are handmade; no two pieces will ever be exactly alike. Variations in finish, colour, grain, size, and texture are part of the character of handmade, natural products and are not considered faults.
• Our furniture is individually handmade from reclaimed scaffold boards, giving each piece a unique character and history.
• Construction: Large/wide boards are securely joined using biscuits and high-strength glue for maximum stability.
• Finish: Each item is hand-cut, sanded, and treated per order, preserving the timber's original markings to ensure a unique, rustic style. We use wood filler where needed to fill large and small gaps, cracks, and holes, thereby maintaining the authentic, rustic aesthetic.
1.2. Wood and steel naturally contain unique marks and imperfections. The following are normal and are not grounds for a return, refund, or discount:
• Bandsaw or machining marks
• Small chip-outs from planning
• Knots, cracks, or shakes
• Colour and grain variations
1.3. If you prefer a smoother or cleaner finish (e.g., flatter surfaces or less rustic detailing), this must be requested at the time of order. A custom quote may apply.
1.4. Every effort is made to select the best timber available, but natural features such as knots, medullary rays, or live-edge details will vary from piece to piece.
1.5. Returns or alterations cannot be accepted for natural differences in wood grain, colour, or character, whether between items or within a single board.

2. Environmental Factors & Wood Movement
2.1. Timber responds to its environment. Changes in temperature, sunlight, and humidity may cause cracking, movement, or warping. These changes are natural and cannot be covered once the furniture is in your home.
2.2. Wood is dried to approximately 10% moisture content before use; however, this may shift in very dry or humid conditions. Dry air can cause cracking, while high humidity may cause warping or joint movement.
2.3. Please follow the Care Guide provided to help your furniture adapt and last in your home.
2.4. Unless specifically stated, all pieces are intended for indoor use only and are not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor spaces.

3. Measurements, Tolerances & Custom Orders
3.1. Dimensions are given as finished sizes. Due to the nature of working with solid wood, a tolerance of ±25mm (≈5%) should be expected, especially in height and depth.
3.2. If your furniture needs to fit a specific space, please inform us when placing your order. Responsibility for ensuring the correct fit rests with you.
3.3. Made-to-measure orders are welcome, but millimetre precision cannot be guaranteed unless specifically agreed in writing.
3.4. Some components, such as bolts or welds, may protrude slightly and should be accounted for in your planning.
3.5. Colours and textures may vary slightly from samples or photographs. Exact matches cannot be guaranteed.

4. Metal Construction
All items are constructed using mild steel sourced from a local supplier. Each component is meticulously cut, drilled, welded, and cleaned by hand. Raw steel products remain untreated, highlighting their natural rustic colour and providing an industrial aesthetic, unless a 'clear lacquer' or 'powder coating' has been applied.

5. Custom Designs & Customer Modifications
5.1. If you supply your own design or drawing, we will work to those specifications, but we cannot be held responsible for design flaws, stability, or functionality unless a prototype or test piece has been agreed upon.
5.2. Additional costs may apply if designs are altered once work has started.
5.3. We cannot accept responsibility for issues caused by customer modifications (e.g., adding your own fittings, legs, or fixings).
5.4. Unstated preferences or unclear expectations cannot be accepted as grounds for complaint. Please provide reference images or detailed requests before ordering if you have a specific vision in mind.

6. Installation, Safety & Responsibility
6.1. Fixing to Walls: Shelving, cabinets, and drawers should be securely fixed to a wall. If pre-drilled holes or fixings are required, please inform us when ordering.
6.2. Freestanding Items: Freestanding furniture is used at your own risk.
6.3. Installation Conditions: It is your responsibility to ensure that walls, floors, and other surfaces are suitable for installation. We cannot be liable for damage caused during or after fitting. For best results, we recommend using a qualified tradesperson.
6.4. Safe Use: Furniture should not be climbed on, leaned against, or hung from. To prevent tipping, heavier items should always be placed on the lower sections of shelves or storage units.

7. Order Cancellation & Returns
7.1. Cancellations: Orders may only be cancelled before production begins. Once work has started, cancellations are not possible.
7.2. Returns: Returns may be accepted at our discretion. If agreed, a 25% restocking fee applies, and all delivery or collection costs will be your responsibility.
7.3. Sale or Clearance Items: Sale and clearance items are non-returnable. Exchanges may be possible if agreed, provided you cover all shipping costs. No restocking fee applies to exchanges.

8. Delivery
8.1. UK Mainland: Delivery is free across the UK mainland. Extra charges may apply for the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, and the Channel Islands—please confirm before ordering.
8.2. International: Please contact us regarding additional costs for heavy or large items. Orders for items that cannot be shipped outside the UK will be refunded. Buyers are responsible for customs and import taxes. These fees are determined by your country’s regulations. If customs fees remain unpaid after shipping, we will deduct these amounts from your refund. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs.
8.3. U.S. Customers: Since 29 August 2025, all parcels shipped to the U.S. are subject to duties, taxes, and customs fees, regardless of value. This means even small purchases may incur additional charges. These fees are set by U.S. Customs, not Etsy or the seller, and buyers are responsible for payment at delivery. Delivery times may also be longer due to new customs checks.

9.1. We cannot be held responsible for indirect or consequential loss, including damage caused by environmental changes, improper use, or customer modifications.
